Dewaxed Shellac
Dewaxed shellac is produced by treating seedlac or shellac flakes with solvent to extract and remove the natural wax fraction, resulting in a product with less than 0.2% wax content. The resulting flakes are lighter in colour, have significantly improved solubility in alcohol, and produce a clearer, harder, more glossy film than standard shellac.
We supply two grades: Regular Dewaxed (bleach number 60–75) and Super Dewaxed (bleach number 80+), both meeting EU food additive specification E904. All batches undergo in-house and third-party testing for wax content, bleach number, alcohol solubility, acid value and heavy metals before dispatch. This is our most popular export product for food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers.
