Lac Wax
Lac wax is a valuable natural by-product recovered during the purification of shellac from seedlac. It consists primarily of long-chain hydroxy fatty acid esters, giving it properties distinct from both plant and insect waxes. With a melting point of 75–80°C, lac wax is one of the hardest natural waxes available — significantly harder than beeswax (62–65°C) and comparable to carnauba in hardness but at a far lower price point.
We supply crude lac wax (yellowish-brown, minimally processed) and refined lac wax (ivory, dewaxed and purified). Both grades find application in premium polish formulations, cosmetic products, leather finishing and specialty candles where a hard, natural wax is required.
