Gum Arabic (Acacia Gum)
Gum arabic, also called acacia gum, is the dried natural exudate of acacia trees. It dissolves easily in cold water to give a low-viscosity solution, and it is one of the few natural gums that is also a strong emulsifier and film former. That is why beverage, flavour and confectionery makers use it where other gums would only thicken.
We supply the spray-dried Acacia senegal grade: the raw gum is dissolved, filtered, pasteurised and spray-dried into a fine white powder that is cleaner, more consistent and much faster to dissolve than raw tears or kibbled gum. Food-grade gum arabic is the EU food additive E414 (INS 414). The raw gum comes from the acacia belt of Africa; the origin is stated on the COA and certificate of origin.

Gum Arabic — Common Questions
What is spray-dried gum arabic?
Raw gum arabic is dissolved in water, filtered to remove bark and sand, pasteurised and then spray-dried into a fine powder. The result is cleaner, more uniform and dissolves far faster than raw tears or kibbled gum, which is why food and beverage plants prefer it.
What is the difference between Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal?
Both are permitted as E414. Acacia senegal (often called "hard gum" or "Kordofan" type) is the premium grade, with better emulsifying power for beverage emulsions. Acacia seyal is a lower-cost grade used mainly where emulsifying strength matters less. We supply Acacia senegal.
Is gum arabic E414?
Yes. Food-grade gum arabic (acacia gum) is the EU food additive E414, used as an emulsifier, stabiliser and thickener. Each lot ships with a COA against the E414 specification.
Where does your gum arabic come from?
Acacia senegal grows in the gum belt of Africa. We supply spray-dried gum from India, and the country of origin of each lot is stated on its COA and certificate of origin.
What is the minimum order and price?
The minimum order is 25 kg, packed in paper bags with a polyethylene liner. Price is on request, because it moves with the African crop; tell us your quantity and destination and we reply within 24 hours.
How should gum arabic powder be stored?
Keep the bags sealed in a cool, dry place. Spray-dried powder picks up moisture from the air and can cake once opened. Stored this way, shelf life is 24 months.
